IARR MINI-CONFERENCE
JUNE 8-10, 2023 | TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA
The theme for the IARR mini-conference being hosted at the University of Alabama is The Dark Side of Relationships, which focuses on aversive, problematic, and dysfunctional behaviors, communication, and experiences in relationships. This theme focuses on difficult conversations in moments of crisis and fateful moments. Building on a tradition of studying dark side processes and outcomes in relationships, this conference welcomes exploration of new frontiers and fresh ideas about how these topics align with recent advances in understanding positive relationship experiences. Many of the disciplines affiliated with IARR examine dark side topics present in personal and social relationships, including deception, intimate partner violence, end-of-life, and life stressors and strain. This theme speaks across the range of disciplines represented by IARR and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration. Although the theme focuses on the dark side of relationships, we welcome submissions on all topics.
Additionally we will host an Innovative Methods pre-conference workshop focused on methodologies to help diversify the science of relationships. We welcome submissions on all topics, and especially those related to the conference theme.
Abstract submissions for the upcoming 2023 IARR Mini-Conference are currently open and will close on February 3rd ----> Deadline extended to February 10th.
